BMS Foundation

Bristol-Myers Squibb is widely recognised for excellence in providing some of the world’s most important medicines to patients. At the same time, we are also an acknowledged leader in corporate philanthropy and sustainability.

All too often, patients worldwide face barriers to healthcare. And certain populations — particularly the urban and rural poor, women, racial and ethnic minorities, and marginalised people — experience worse health outcomes compared to others.

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation seeks to address these health disparities. In India, the Foundation’s work (related to hepatitis) represents a significant part of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Delivering Hope, an umbrella program in the areas of hepatitis awareness, prevention and care.

Since 2002, the Foundation has supported efforts in Asia, initially focusing on prevention of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B and promoting hepatitis B immunization in China. In 2006, the Foundation expanded those efforts to India to provide broader support for hepatitis B and C awareness, prevention and education as well as adoption and integration of hepatitis B and C interventions and health education in public health programs.

Today, the Foundation’s priority hepatitis B and C programs encompass capacity building for healthcare professionals and lay health workers, disease education and awareness. In addition, the Foundation strives to share best practices in the prevention and management of hepatitis B and C and communicate public health policies.
